Thanks for your comments we have since removed the 17 - 18 house takes pushes rule and if you ever had the food at Continental Lanes you would understand why we give out pretzels nuts and gold fish crackers.

I used to be a frequent player there playing both cash and blackjack. After realizing how ignorant and cheap the owner is (Guy) I stopped going there. In blackjack they take your 17&18 push and max bet is $5.00. Now, for the cash players the only thing you will get as food is pretzels. Nothing but an insult because the owner is so super cheap and arrogant. Any other charity poker you go to cash players have a lot more then pretzels they can actually have meals. and blackjack is actually a blackjack game and not that bullshit where they take your 17&18 push. People will eventually catch up on how insulting the owner is and they will stop going. My buddies and I stopped going and will never step foot in there again.

Guy runs a good shop and I am hoping to get my charity in there.

All of the dealers are fine with obviously some are better than others. There have been a few problems as with any entity that has customer contact with workers. All of the problem dealers are no longer there.

Many of the above comments on tournaments are correct. Especially the payouts and the $1 rebuys with people trying to get lucky and with the posted return rates. The room has just switched the Wednesday tournament to a deep stack where $40 add-on gets $120,000 in chips (there are others at $5, $10, $20, and $30). For those of you not associated with having a charity or running a poker room, most of the time tournaments do not make the room much money. Even with the $1 rebuys where only 25% goes to the house and charity, that means if $2,400 is collected that is only $600 in profit. Of which only $300 goes to the poker room. If you have eight tables (normal for the $1 or $5 rebuys), that means paying eight dealers for at least 1.5 hours or more. More like three hours for a total of 24 man hours. Now do the math as far as how much dealers are usually paid. This does not include the other remaining dealers that can sometimes work up to six hours before the tournament is over.

As far as Continental Lanes goes, it could be a lot better. The food is bad (especially the square pizza) and service is hit and miss. There is only one really good waitress and often the management of Continental Lanes does not keep enough people working. So you will probably have to go to the bar to get a drink.

No Guy, I am completing correct about your room. Its terrible. And no, most other charity poker rooms only do not pay out your horrible percents. Most rooms pay the state max which is 80%, not 65%, do you think we are all morons here?

Hahaha WOW 80% of a dollar? What a great GUY!

Sorry Joe, not refering to you at all. The poster RPR was making incorrect statements about pay backs. It just seems shortly after having to bar a player we come up with a neagitve post about the room on the fourms.

Next time the completion or a banned or barred player posts, it sure would be nice if you check your facts before you post lies about another poker room.

@DetroitGuy, I kind of get the feeling this was directed at me (the site owner). If it was I am sorry you feel the way you do, I really have no way to tell if the person writing the comment is your competition or a banned player from your room. This is an open forum open to everyone including yourself, you indicated in your post that you are with "Four Aces Club", but I have no way to verify this. I also feel it would be wrong of me to delete you comments for this reason.

Thanks for stopping by and updating the comment section here on your rooms tournaments and payouts.

Your statements are wrong and our players will disagree.

The percentages you’ve posted are for our freeze out tournaments. These are normal for “CHARITY” poker rooms. Our Re-buys pay out 80% of the initial buy-in and 65% of the re-buys.

Our nightly tournaments give you more play than any other tournaments in the area. It takes a player an average of 6 hours to win a re-buy tournament at Four Aces Club. Our blinds are longer and they don’t double every level. Most of our starting stacks would be consider deep stacks at any other card room or casino. And we only spread 2 one dollar tournaments a week now.

Dealers are fine.
The worst tournaments in Michigan, only pay out 50% of what is collected. They say they pay 75%, but what they dont tell you is that they pay out 75% of the first $1, then 50% of the rest. Believe me, they will get more then half the players walk in with just $1 hoping to hit the lottery.
All the tournaments are $1 rebuys, attracts the best people in the area.
There has been many cars broken into in the parking lot, and tires deflatted.
Not a good place.

I had a problem with the dealers as well.. He kept giving me crappy cards! And if I did get decent cards, someone always rivered me. Thanks dealer!

All in all it was a decent room. Better then I expected regardless of the bad luck that wiped me out. I'll be back after I return some bottles.
